What is a parenting plan?

A parenting plan in Florida is a contract signed by the parties in which they deal with the major and the minor issues involving the parenting of their children. The major issues would include time sharing, exchanges during time sharing, decision-making, how much notice do I need to give prior to taking a vacation and providing an itinerary, what does vacation time look like during time sharing, and all the issues that are specific or general to each particular family.

We try to make that a comprehensive document to answer as much detail as we can regarding parenting of the children in the future because the devil is always in the details and previously when we didn’t have detailed documents the parties were in a constant state of disagreement and going back to court far too often to resolve issues that could be better resolved if they sat down and took a detailed approach in the beginning.
