First and foremost, be courteous, be respectful in your communications. An old attorney told me when I first began the practice of law, when I sat in on a consult he had with a young man, he said, “Young man, there are going to become times when you’re going to want to say something, you’re going to want to do something that you think is going to make you feel real good in dealing with your spouse, but I can tell you, it’s just going to blow up on you, so don’t do it.” Second thing is try to make sure that when you have a transfer of your children during time-sharing, that you’re there on time. Third, share information regarding your children. Fourth, don’t cause issues where you don’t have to.
