Unbundled legal services are basically an individual going to an attorney and instead of hiring an attorney to represent them from the beginning of the case to the end of the case, they’re hiring an attorney to perform specific tasks that are limited in nature during the case.
For instance, you may hire an attorney for unbundled legal services to just draft your divorce petition. You may ask the attorney to appear for your to take the deposition of your spouse or to prepare the testimony of an expert, or to draft your version of the settlement agreement, or to coach you on how to negotiate your settlement agreement. There’s a specific beginning and end to each task that you ask this attorney to represent you. In contrast again, you are not hiring them to represent you from the beginning to the end of your case.
